Crossing the Road

Crossing the road

As adults we take a lot of things for granted, crossing the road safely is one of these. We do this having been taught the necessary skills by others. Children learn and copy actions from a very early age and it's our role to give them guidance through adopting good practices and leading by example.

Each time you cross the road, take a few seconds to explain what you are doing, I can guarantee the information will be stored away. Make the experience fun, this often enhances 'show and tell' teaching practices. For information which may assist, visit www.road-safety.org.uk/walking/children-as-pedestrians/
